Gcn5‐related N‐acetyltransferase (GNAT) toxins acetylate aminoacyl‐tRNA and block protein translation. A GNAT toxin encoded by the <italic>kacAT</italic> locus in carbapenem‐resistant <italic>Klebsiella pneumoniae</italic> HS11286 falls into a distinct phylogenetic clade compared to related toxins of <italic>S. enterica</italic> and <italic>E. coli</italic>.
