Abstract

This article discusses the use of jaggery in making perfumes in India during the ancient period. It tackles the method of preparation of perfumes in using jaggery as stated in the verses of Chapter 77 entitled "Ganhayukti," of Varahamihir's Brihat Samhita, and other herbs or substances used for mixing with jaggery to make perfumes.
