- Abstract
The article offers information on a study which investigates the effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARa) intron G/C polymorphism in the muscle strength of a young-adult population. It states that CC homozygotes have an improved resistance to muscle fatigue that could aid in endurance type activities. It notes that the PPARa intron G/C polymorphism did not influence the muscle ability to produce knee flexor and extensor peak torque during static or dynamic conditions.
