Abstract

In this article, several issues relating to the use of multiple regression analysis (MRA) for mass assessment of single-family residences are examined. These issues include specification, stepwise techniques, interaction, nonlinearity, stratification, and multicollinearity. More general issues such as whether MRA should be used and choosing between alternate equations are discussed.
