Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of a kind of novel glycoprotein from Cyanea nozakii on the anti-fatigue activities of mice, glycoprotein aqueous solution were administered orally to the mice for 30 d with the dosage of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg. The loading forced swim time, serum urea nitrogen, glycogen content in liver, and blood lactate value were tested. The results showed that all of the dosage levels can prolong the swim time of mice (P < 0.01), reduce the quantity of blood urea nitrogen( P < 0.05 or P < 0.01) and decrease the content of the lactic acid in blood of mice evidently (P <0.01). Middle and high dose levels can increase the glycogen content in liver compared with the control group( P < 0. 01). It is suggested that the novel glycoprotein from Cyanea nozakii possess the activity to promote the anti-fatigue activity of mice.
