Abstract

Is it possible that a healthy diet could increase our body's resilience? Is it possible that the correct diet would allow us to avoid allergy or inflammatory bowel disease? It seems that undervalued microbiota colonizing our intestines have an essential influence on our health. Factors such as diet and stress, modulate the composition of intestinal flora and its metabolic activity to affect a number of physiological processes of our body. Some components of diet, especially the use of food preservatives and the oversupply of protein may induce carcinogenesis. Stress induces significant changes in the composition of intestinal flora and encourages the development of opportunistic species of bacteria. Currently intestinal dysbiosis is thought to be predisposing factor responsible for the development of civilization diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, allergies, and inflammatory bowel disease. So, do you care for your(s) intestinal bacteria? What do you choose to feed them?
