Abstract

In order to study the antifatigue effect of burdock fructooligsaccharide (BFOS), mice were divided into four groups, supplemented with BFOS at the doses of 100,200,400 mg · kg-1 · d-1 and 0.9 sodium chloride solution respectively. After 42 d, swimming time and survival time under hypoxia were measured. BUN and blood LAG after swimming were measured also. The results showed three dose of BFOS increased swimming time and survival time under hypoxia, and decrease of serum BUN and LAC in swimming mice. From these observations it is concluded that BFOS has antifatigue effect and its optimum dose is 200 mg · kg-1 · d-1.
