Abstract

Flavones formed from xylem of D. cochinchinensis by co-culture of fungus strain and bacteria strain are separated near the resin part in the stem of D. cochinchinensis, which do not occur in xylem before transformation. The result indicated that there was a kind of primary substances in the xylem that could be transformed by microorganisms into flavone substances. This peculiar resistance mechanism to microorganism of D. cochinchinensis may be related to the formation of Resina draconis.
