Pasquier, M.

Abstract

As we age, the structures of the skin tend to become disorganized. The skin becomes saggy and loses its firmness and elasticity. A new anti-aging active extracted from the brown seaweed Himanthalia elongata combats these disorganizations and acts globally in all skin layers: • by strengthening the dermo-epidermal junction • reinforcing the mechanical properties of the dermis • and acting deep in the skin by strengthening the dermo-hypodermal junction. Tested in-vivo for 28 days, it significantly improves skin firmness. It has also been tested on the decrease of nasogenian folds visibility. This innovative Himanthalia elongata extract is a biomimetic and eco-designed marine active ingredient intended to restore skin firmness.
