- Abstract
The aim of the study was to analyse the most frequently extracted teeth (quadrant wise).Nowadays, modern dentistry aims to restore the patient's normal function, aesthetics, speech and health. Despite this progress in preventive, restorative and operative techniques, teeth extraction remains an important part of therapeutic. A dental extraction is the removal of tooth from the oral cavity/ mouth. Dental extraction is one of the most common and affordable procedures for patients to achieve instant results and relief from pain. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons like dental caries, periodontitis, dental trauma etc. This is a retrospective clinical study carried out at Saveetha Dental College. This study involves the analysis of most frequently extracted teeth (quadrant wise). This data was taken over a period of one year from June 2019 to March 2020. A total of 14692 samples/ data were retrieved and the most frequently extracted teeth (quadrant wise) were examined. In this study we observe that the most commonly extracted teeth are from quadrant 1 (25.84%) in both male and female the most frequently extracted teeth are from quadrant 1, 14.06% and 11.78% respectively. P value > 0.05 insignificant correlation (Chi- square test).Bearing in the mind the limits of the study, the most commonly extracted teeth are from quadrant 1 (25.84%) followed by quadrant 2 (25.43%).
