Abstract

An alternate reality learning experience (ARLE), or a gameful experience that uses experiential learning, allows students to "buy in" to a real-world project while learning course outcomes, interdisciplinary collaboration, project management, and teamwork skills. Based on a semester long project, students participated in a multi-course/multi-program simulated presidential debate.
