O MANEJO DAS EMOÇÕES DOS COORDENADORES EM TRANSPLANTES NA REALIZAÇÃO DA ENTREVISTA FAMILIAR PARA DOAÇÃO DE ÓRGÃOS.

BACKGROUND: The family interview is in a delicate process in organ donation because materializes family death. Represents also the time it involves an emotional overload for interviewers called advanced transplant coordinators. AIM: To learn how the advanced transplant coordinators handle the emotions manifest in the family interview for organ donation. METHODS: Interpretative study. The 24 advanced transplants coordinators has participated. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews with eight open questions in the period Jan/May 2012. Was explored the question: “How do you deal with the emotions at the time of interview?”. Used discourse analysis of the subjects based on the proposed interpretation in Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics for understanding the organization and reported data that were recorded and transcribed in full accordingly. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee UFF/ HUAP No. 321/11. RESULTS: The subjects establish different relationships involved with emotions, not your emotions blending with the family, thereby establishing a ‘professional’ relationship; allowing it to engage/affect the emotions of the relatives of the donor; or even not getting involved at some point with the emotions expressed in the interview. CONCLUSIONS: Most managements reflected the search for the lock/ muffling of their emotions, avoid them at this stage. This movement portrays the emotional incompetence of the subject, since it does not allow you to naturally welling emotions. This movement reflects negatively on the mental health of those professionals.
