Abstract

In this study, a novel polysaccharide DIPs-2 was purified from the fungus of Dictyophora indusiata. Further, its chemical structure and anti-fatigue activities were investigated in vivo. DIPs-2 contained mannose, glucose and galactose in a molar ratio of 4.16: 0.27: 0.55. The methylation analysis indicated that DIPs-2 was composed of 1, 6-linked Manp, 1, 3, 6-linked Manp, 1, 6-linked Glcp, 1-linked Glcp, 1, 6-linked Galp, 1, 3-linked Galp and 1-linked Galp with the ratios of 3.9: 0.24: 0.15: 0.11: 0.11: 0.32: 0.13. The structural analysis revealed that DIPs-2 possessed a backbone of 1, 6-linked glycosyl residues, mainly consisting of 1,6-linked Manp. The tests of anti-fatigue activities in rats showed that DIPs-2 increased the loading swimming capacity, pole-climbing endurance, survival time under anoxia, liver and muscle glycogen contents, as well as decreased the levels of blood urea nitrogen and blood lactic acid in serum. Therefore, DIPs-2 exhibits good anti-fatigue activities, suggesting that DIPs-2 has great potential in food industry.
