- Title
How Much Does Colonoscopy Reduce Colon Cancer Mortality?
- Abstract
The article comments on the study which examines the effectiveness of colonoscopy in reducing colorectal cancer (CRC) mortality. The author asserts that the estimated 76% to 90% reduction in the effect of colonoscopy on CRC incidence are based on an analysis of data from the National Polyp Study. The author cites that colonoscopy is an effective intervention, but researchers of the study warn that the current evidence is indirect and does not support a claim of 90% effectiveness.
