- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 61-year-old woman who suffered acute renal failure (ARF) due to fenofibrate monotherapy. It is reported that, for the treatment of hyperlipidemia the woman had been taking 250 mg fenofibrate daily for almost 1 month. It is reported that, the woman was treated with intravenous hydration and urine alkalinisation after which her serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) level returned to baseline within 7 days of hospitalization without any dialysis.
