- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 27-year-old woman from Jinan, China who developed fatal influenza (H5N1). On January 5, 2009, she experienced influenza-like illness (ILI). On January 17, 2009, she died because of acute respiratory distress syndrome and multiple organ failure. Family memberrs and medical personnel involved in the case were isolated and monitored. Individuals who were acquainted with the patient did not show any symptoms of influenza.
