Abstract

The article offers information on fragile X syndrome (FXS) a one of three health conditions related to fragile X mental retardation (FMR1) gene dysfunction, or fragile X-associated disorders (FXDs). Topics include the other FXDs, fragile-X associated primary ovarian insufficiency syndrome (FXPOI) and fragile-X associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS), the benefits of physical therapy in treating FXD conditions, and assessment and intervention strategies for FXDs.
