Abstract

The author reflects on the need for science teachers in the U.S. to teach evolution forthrightly. Topics discussed include ways to improve on teaching evolution such as considering history and reactions of faith traditions in the U.S. to evolution, endorsement made by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) of the teaching of evolution, and the Butler Act of 1925.
