- Abstract
Recent developments in housing, wellbeing and care create the need for transforming the social sector in the Netherlands. This article proposes narrativity as potentially powerful means to substantiate this transformation based on collective sensemaking in social care networks. To this purpose the transformation is metaphorically represented as learning how to play a new game, with relations, meaning and participation as main constituents of a level playing field. Dynamics on this playing field are generated top-down by narrative interventions and bottom-up by inducing learning capacity and collective learning processes of the participants. Narrativity may thus yield an integral, democratic and network-based alternative for traditional governance in and after the transformation of the social sector.
