- Abstract
This study aims to investigate, from the opinion of managers and guests the relationship between management practices in commercial hospitality and the competitiveness of hotel services at the strategic level of management. It is a cross-sectional, analytical inferential analysis based on a representative sample of managers and Guests selected from lodging facilities of the Belém Tourist Polo (PA). Exploratory analysis of descriptive statistics of the data is part of the methodology the quantitative type. The data evaluated by BioEstat programs version 5.4 and Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) version 9.4. The correspondence between Manager and Guest responses was measured through the correlation coefficient (r) Pearson. The comparison between the lodging facilities occurred by analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results suggest that the correlation in the opinion of managers and guests is not significant at the strategic management level. Nevertheless, the result of the comparison between the commercial accommodation units (MHC) reveals that large apartments have better results in relation to small and medium businesses. The results of the research also point to the satisfaction of the guest in relation to the provision of the services provided by the collaborators, however, the top management must offer learning training to qualify and requalify the workers, and, at the same time, to encourage them to increase knowledge And proactive innovative entrepreneurship in solving problems related to everyday in the areas technological, environmental and operational issues in (MHC) to become competitive.
