- Title
Europe reconsidering DTCA.
- Abstract
The article reports on the collaboration of five international associations to oppose the proposal of the European Commission to relax direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising rules. Pharmaceutical firms have an inherent conflict of interest which prevents them from providing unbiased information to patients according to the alliance. The members of the group believe that the Commission is preparing for new legislation permitting advertising disguised as direct-to-consumer information.
