- Title
Genome-Wide Scan for Signatures of Human Population Differentiation and Their Relationship with Natural Selection, Functional Pathways and Diseases.
- Abstract
The article presents information on a genome-wide estimation of FST on single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) from HapMap project data. The study compared the FST values obtained in the study with another evolutionary measure obtained by comparative interspecific approach. It was found that genes under positive selection appeared to show low levels of population differentiation. The study also found that one pathway related to antigen processing showed low levels of FST but several pathways related to cell signalling, growth as well as morphogenesis showed high FST values.
