Abstract
An interview with Bruce Alberts, a faculty member at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). When asked how he started as a scientist, he states that he never took any biology until college. He states that the first thing he wanted to do in graduate school was to solve the genetic code. He mentions that after experiencing failures, he learned that experimental strategy was everything in science and nobody told him anything about it.
