- Abstract
The article discusses the history of maroons and outlaws in the border region between Spanish East Florida and the Lowcountry region of Georgia in relation to the life of a fugitive named Titus. Topics include migrations of Africans and African Americans from Georgia to Florida, the use of boats by fugitive slaves fleeing from Georgia to Florida across the St. Marys River, and the role of Native American people in East Florida.
