- Abstract
The article presents an exploration into the intellectual history of the 16th century Italian humanist scholar Antonio Brucioli, particularly seen in the influences of his philosophical work "Dialogi." The author highlights the musical terms used within Brucioli's work and examines their reflection of 15th and early 16th century humanistic thought as well as its use of late Classical cosmology. The concepts discussed include the potential dangers of polyphony on youth, the doctrine of the music of the spheres, and the influence of music on the human body.
