- Authors
Campbell, Gwyn E.
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the Old Testament play "El clavo de Jael," by Antonio Mira de Amescua. The play is about two powerful women who deliver premonarchic Israel from the grip of Canaanite oppression. It finds that the challenge facing the dramatist clearly involved not only the manner in which he supplemented the source texts and how he altered the sacred scripture concerning the play's two female figures, but his dramatic ends in so doing as well.
