Abstract

As the number of global cancer cases continues to rise, with an especially alarming increase affecting younger populations, Peter Thomson considers a holistic approach to oral cancer care, utilising the principles of individual patient profiling and an introduction to the newer concepts of prehabilitation, together with a review of contemporary perioperative patient preparation. In this manner, a more coordinated approach to treatment intervention is envisaged to improve the continuum of modern cancer care and thereby enhance patients' quality of life.
