- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which aims at analyzing the prognostic effect of CD8+ (cytotoxic T) lymphocyte infiltration in different breast cancer intrinsic subtypes. It states that these lymphocytes indicates an immune response to cancer development. It mentions that immunohistochemistry for CD8 staining was performed on tissue microarrays of breast cancer patients. It concludes that CD8+ tumor infiltrating lymphocytes are an independent prognostic factor.
