- Title
Over-expression of BMPR-IB reduces the malignancy of glioblastoma cells by upregulation of p21 and p27Kip1.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the effects of bone morphogenetic protein receptor IB (BMPR-IB) overexpression on glioblastoma cell lines in both in vivo and in vitro. The study uses colony formation analysis and flourescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) for the detection of the BMPR-IB effects on the growth and proliferation of glioblastoma cells in vivo. Results show the induced phosphotylation and nuclear localization of smad/1/5/8 from the forced BMPR-IB expression in malignant human glioma cells.
