- Title
New and novel intrinsic host repressive factors against HIV-1: PAF1 complex, HERC5 and others.
- Abstract
The article comments on two studies published in the journal focusing on new and novel intrinsic host repressive factors against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-1 infection including PAF1 complex, HERC5 and others. One study utilizes an small interfering RNA (siRNA) screening method to knockdown expression of 19,121 human genes which would leave the early stages of HIV replication. The other study confirmed the role of HECT domain and RCC1-like domain containing protein 5 (HERC5) in HIV.
