Actual and undiagnosed HIV prevalence in a community sample of men who have sex with men in Auckland, New Zealand.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study conducted to determine actual and undiagnosed prevalence of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in a community sample of men who have sex with men (MSM) in Auckland, New Zealand. The study found that HIV prevalence is increased in subgroups of MSM depending on their behaviour and diagnosis rates differs by ethnicity. It has been informed that increasing raising condom use and earlier diagnosis among those most at risk could be preventive measures.
