- Title
The impact of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) on the recording of smoking targets in primary care medical records: crosssectional analyses from The Health Improvement Network (THIN) database.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effect of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) incentive program on the general practitioners' (GPs) recording of smoking status and cessation advice in their patients' medical records in the Health Improvement Network (THIN) databases in Great Britain. It explores the changes in the recording activities and cessation advice to smokers and the factors that influence such recording. It suggests that incentivised targets impact clinical behavior.
