- Abstract
The article offers information on a survey conducted by the authors related to concurrent sexual partnerships, which can lead to HIV infections in rural population of Uganda. It states that 3,291 men and 4,052 women participated in the survey in which 25 percent women and 11 percent men reported polygynous union. It mentions that polygynous accounted for a third of concurrency in men and it was not associated with increased risk of HIV.
