- Title
Mitochondrial genome deletions and minicircles are common in lice (Insecta: Phthiraptera).
- Abstract
The article presents a research which analyzes the gene composition, gene order and structure of the mitochondrial genome in lice. It is reported that, on the basis of analysis the researchers discovered that, Minicircular mt genomes are common in lice, not being confined to any particular louse subgroup. However, according to the research, no pattern of the occurrence of phylogenetic tree, which is consistent with an evolutionary series of minicircle types is found in lice.
