- Title
Ploidy influences cellular responses to gross chromosomal rearrangements in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which compared the cellular responses of strains carrying gross chromosomal rearrangements (GCRs) in different ploidy contexts of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. As explained, GCRs result in chromosomal instability and can enable organisms to adapt to new environments. To analyze the effects of ploidy on cellular responses, the study selected haploid and diploid revertants carrying the same GCRs by inducing meiosis in diploid mutants.
