- Title
Roles of planar cell polarity pathways in the development of neutral tube defects.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the roles of planar cell polarity pathways in the growth of neutral tube defects (NTDs). It mentions that NTDs are the most common birth defect in human body. It mentions planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling pathway plays a significant role during neural tube closure. PCP polarized cell movement and organ morphogenesis by the activation of cytoskeletal pathways. Further it discusses how PCP affect the pathogenesis of NTDs in humans.
