- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 58-year-old woman who was diagnosed with Richter's epigastric hernia with transverse colon strangulation. Information on her medical history is provided. Her symptoms included a sudden onset of severe supraumbilical pain, tachycardia and fever. Empiric antibiotics were administered to the patient. She underwent segmental transverse colectomy, as well as a repair of the subsequent ventral hernia and bowel anastomosis.
