- Abstract
The article reports that the first randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial called COMPARE-AMI compared the effects of intracoronary injection of CD133+ cells with placebo on the cardiac repair in acute myocardial infarction (MI) patients and persistent left ventricular dysfunction. As stated, patients between 30 and 75 years of age were found eligible to participate in the study. The study concluded that it may help to support the therapeutic potential of CD133+ cells for the treatment of MI.
