- Abstract
The article presents a debate, for and against the topic related to the appropriateness of the linear-quadratic (LQ) model, to model high dose per fraction effects in radiosurgery. Arguing for the proposition, physician John P. Kirkpatrick states that the model is a useful tool to help predict isoeffects as a function of the total dose and treatment time. Against the proposition, physician David J. Brenner states that the LQ model is an approximation to more complex models.
