- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the association between multivitamin use and death caused by heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and cancer. For the study, the researchers analyzed a cohort of 1,063,023 adult Americans in 1982-1989 and compared the mortality of multivitamin users. Researchers found that multivitamin and combination use had a small effect on cancer mortality in general. However, they found that mortality from all cancers combined was increased among male current smokers who used multivitamins alone.
