Presents a case of a patient with an acute exacerbation of asthma requiring ventilatory support. Effects of tracheal intubation and ventilatory support on symptoms; Incorrect diagnosis of status asthmaticus; Presence of vocal cord dysfunction; Expiratory flow limitation due to paradoxical vocal cord movement.
