Title

Bacterial physiology: New shears for SsrA.

Authors

van Ooij, Christiaan

Abstract

The article focuses on Gur and Sauer's report about the evolution of SsrA published in the "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA." It offers information on SsrA, also called tmRNA, the RNA with the properties of both tRNA and mRNA and states that the two investigate SsrA-mediated protein degradation in Mycoplasma florum. Details on the findings of the in vitro investigation of Lon are also provided.
