Title

Bacterial physiology: A function for redundancy.

Authors

Jones, Susan

Abstract

The article reports on the use of flux analysis to show that methylobacteria metabolize formaldehyde by routing it through two different pathways. 14C-labelled CH3OH was used and the rate of methanol oxidation assimilation of chlorine units and carbon dioxide production was analyzed to monitor the flux of carbon through metabolism.
