Human microbiome: A gut feeling for disease.
- Authors
Flintoft, Louisa
- Abstract
The article discusses three researches being done on the use of genetics and genomics to understand the influence of human gut bacteria on biology. It references the studies by J. Qin and colleagues, T. B. Clark and colleagues, and M. Vijay-Kumar and colleagues in the 2010 issue. It states that the study of Vijay-Kumar and colleagues shows that gut bacteria are changed due to immune signalling. Moreover, the study of Clark and colleagues reveals that peptidoglycan prevents the bacteria.
