Title
Cold current in thermoreceptive neurons.
Authors
Reid, Gordon; Flonta, Maria-Luiza
Abstract
Reports on the discovery of an inward ionic current that is activated by moderate cooling in a small number of rat sensory neurons and may be significant in cold sensing. Proof that the cold-induced current is not ubiquitous in primary somatosensory neurons; Relationship of the activation and deactivation of the current with the time course of the thermal stimulus; Current adaptation during sustained cold stimulation.
