Abstract

The article focuses on the Dolphin Coast Concession, one of the most prominent public private partnerships in South Africa which involves one of the foremost water multinationals and a local authority. This concession is examined in relation to the changing policy framework for municipal services. The impact of concessions in bringing an improvement in the lives of working people is discussed. This article also talks about their effect on the domestic sphere on waterborne diseases and on home-based care for AIDS victims.
