The significance of lateral pelvic lymph nodes (LPLN) in rectal cancer remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the outcome of patients with LPLNs identified on pretherapy imaging who were treated with neoadjuvant therapy followed by proctectomy without LPLN dissection.
