Title

Chemical constituents of chloroform and petroleum extracts from Cirsium palustre flower heads.

Authors

Nazaruk, J.; Jablonski, J.

Abstract

The article focuses on the chemical constituents of chloroform and petroleum extracts from Cirsium palustre (C. palustre) inflorescences, including campesterol, faradiol, and cholesterol. It states that the chloroform extract was subjected to column chromatography using hexane and mixtures of hexane-ethyl acetate (EtOAc), while the petroleum extract was chromatographed on a silica gel column with petroleum ether-(EtOAc). It mentions that the constituents were identified by using mass spectra.
