Abstract

The article presents a study on the acute toxicity of several heavy metals on the tadpoles of the toad Bufo melanostictus. The study collected tadpoles from a pond in Lucknow, India and were acclimitized to laboratory conditions, wherein acute bioassay procedure was performed on the samples. The results showed that the behavioral reponses of the tadpoles on the toxicants including silver, cadmium, and copper were different in metals and test concentrations.
