- Abstract
The author offers views on whether the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) can become relevant to controlling medical costs and improving value in the U.S. The author believes that PCORI's research can aid doctors and patients decide which of many tests or therapies is slightly better or no different in terms of its effects on patients with specific symptoms or illnesses. The author adds that PCORI's research help determine how the delivery of health care can be enhanced.
